Nice to meet you, hope you're well, hope you like learning just as much as me! If you like, you can get to know me a little before we start.

A bit about me

Let me begin with the phrase: data is fun! As I really believe that and I think the tone suits my character: fast, smart and informal. I've been working with data for quite some years now and with that not only pure data, but also the systems that generate it as well as the people behind those systems. Full stack data person you could say. From marketing analytics to consultancy, from IT to Sales, all the way to Finance departments — and now in my current role as manager of the data department at Timing.

What I came to believe over the years: the real challenge in data rarely sits in the tool nor in the end user. Almost always, it sits in understanding how they interact.

It's not that people aren't smart enough, the team isn't willing, but because too often it really comes down to the fact that much is expected too quickly. Questions aren't asked deeply enough, assumptions aren't tested, and before you know it something has been put in production that isn't future proof or doesn't solve the problem.

That's exactly where I believe I can play a role as trainer. As an outsider, coming in: making it my personal goal to understand your challenges, and working towards a clear result together over the course of a training, a workshop or even a one-on-one session. Over the years, this idea has grown into a consistent way of working that runs through all the training I do.

Where my approach comes from

Originally I studied Marketing, so for me the customer, or end user if you'd like, comes first. And with that in mind, it's important to study the needs and wants before you decide your strategy and delivery. That mindset is my foundation, combined with talent for both IT Systems as well as communication made me pick data. And now, with enough experience under the belt, working on a daily basis alongside the people who actually have to use those systems. I believe I can help people and teams achieve their goals.

  • Deep technical knowledge, made simple and understandable
  • Structure as a tool, not a straitjacket
  • Provoke trainees to ask questions, making them the starting point of a chapter
  • Understanding and being able to apply over speed and curriculum

This translates into training that really is applicable, which connects to what's actually happening on your work floor, and that inspires you to get to work afterwards.

Microsoft Certified Trainer

Dogoda & Microsoft Certified Trainer

Dogoda stands for Doing Good with Data. It's the small freelance company I set up alongside my primary role as manager at Timing, specifically for training, workshops and the occasional consulting gig.

I don't do this full-time — I have a day job I enjoy. But every now and then there's room for an extra assignment, and when there is, I want to do it properly. That's why I got certified as a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).

Being an MCT means the certification training I deliver is officially aligned with Microsoft Learn materials and exam objectives. It also means I stay current — because Microsoft expects that from its trainers. For you that translates into training that is both practically grounded and formally recognised.

What gives me energy

Besides being able to help others, the real energizer in providing a training is the moment someone starts reasoning on their own. Not because I'm "done", but because ownership shifts.
